Research Overview
Imaging methods have been the central obstacle to seeing fine detail in 3D ex vivo tumor models. This study developed a simple, efficient procedure using standard reagents and imaging equipment that significantly enhanced 3D imaging to roughly 200 µm depth.
The method was tested on pancreatic spheroids — prototypes of dense tissue that are notoriously hard to image — and both saved time and extracted information about pancreatic tumor spheroids that had previously been difficult to obtain, including clear differences in tumor organization.
