Research Overview

3D cultures are increasingly popular in academia and industry, yet the morphology of the 3D architecture itself remains remarkably understudied. This work introduced the open-access Spheroid Light Microscopy Image Atlas (SLiMIA) as a training set for morphology studies.

The dataset contains roughly 8,000 spheroid images with extensive metadata spanning 9 microscopes, 47 cell lines, 8 culture media, 4 spheroid formation methods, and multiple seeding densities — a resource to guide spheroid researchers and economize resources by advancing 3D culture optimization and standardization.
